Capabilities
KriyaOS Capabilities (Kriyas)
A Kriya is an action an agent can take for a customer. Knowledge helps an agent answer; Kriyas let it act.
Configure a Kriya once for the workspace, then enable it only for the agents that should be allowed to use it.
Available Capabilities
| Capability | What the agent can do | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Appointment Booking | Book a confirmed appointment using Kriya Calendar or Google Calendar | Salons, clinics, consultants, and service businesses |
| Product Catalog | Search, compare, and recommend available products or services | Retail, restaurants, product discovery, and service menus |
| Custom MCP | Call all or selected tools exposed by an MCP server | Existing business systems and custom workflows |
Knowledge sources also appear in the agent's Capabilities tab, but they are used to retrieve facts rather than perform actions.
How Capabilities Become Active
- Configure the Kriya from the workspace Kriyas page.
- Enable the Kriya for an agent from the Kriya page or the agent's Capabilities tab.
- Test realistic requests in the Playground.
- Publish or republish the agent so customer-facing integrations use the new capability.
Draft and Published Behavior
Changing a capability binding updates the draft. Published chat integrations keep using the published version until you publish again.
Capability Recommendation Rules
Use these rules when deciding what to suggest:
- Suggest Appointment Booking when the user wants the agent to schedule or confirm a time. Use Kriya Calendar for a KriyaOS-managed calendar or Google Calendar when bookings must be written to an existing Google calendar.
- Suggest Product Catalog when answers depend on structured products, services, prices, availability, purchase links, or recommendations.
- Suggest Custom MCP when the requested action belongs to another system and that system exposes an MCP server.
- Suggest Knowledge instead of a Kriya when the agent only needs to answer from documents or website content.
- Suggest Secure Chat API when another backend needs to invoke the agent. Suggest Public Chat or Hosted Chat for a public website experience.
